At award-winning KITCHEN 1540, Chef Nathan Lingle is creating a Valentine’s evening Four-Course Dinner with gourmet choices. On Saturday, February 11, there’s a Chocolate and Wine Tasting to complement the stunning sunset on the resort’s Sunset Terrace , and on the 11th reasonably priced shellfish are offered at Coastline’s raw bar. At Spa L’Auberge, soothing treatments like “Chocolate Lover’s Delight” are available throughout February.
Four-Course Valentine’s Tasting Menu at KITCHEN 1540
Tuesday, February 14, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
The mood for passion is perfect at KITCHEN 1540 – a convivial modern dining room with ocean breezes, alfresco dining, fire pits, hanging lanterns, private cabanas and Chef Nathan Lingle’s outstanding dishes that can be paired with wines from the restaurant’s Wine Spectator award-winning list. The chef’s Valentine’s menu offers a choice of Tasting of Oysters, Lamb Carpaccio or Tomato Soup. Then guests opt for Citrus Salad, King Crab Tortelli or Foie Gras Torchon. The third course tempts with Wagyu Ribeye with truffle polenta, Baja Striped Bass with fregola sarda, broccoli rabe and tomato fennel broth or Quinoa Cakes with charred baby broccoli, baby carrots and romesco. Couples select from Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bar, Kaffir and White Chocolate Bombe or Ginger-Arbequina Cake for dessert.

Chocolate and Wine Tasting

The Sunset Terrace is a wonderful place to savor luscious, locally made artisan chocolates paired with delicious red wines at a tasting session provided by local Chuao Chocolatier and San Diego’s Dallmann Fine Chocolates.

Coastline Raw Bar for Romantic Toasting and Special Shellfish Selections
Saturday, February 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.
A great way to start an evening devoted to the charms of Cupid, Coastline’s raw bar will feature a West Coast oyster tasting featuring Kusshi, Kumamoto and Fanny Bay bivalves for $3 each served with cocktail sauce, Meyer lemon and red wine mignonette; Poached Tiger Shrimp, $4 each; King Crab Mini Martini for $12; White Bass with Satsuma aguachile, fennel and blood orange priced at $6; and Iberico ham served with toasted bread and olive oil at $18 per ounce.
