Toasting California Wine Month on the Coast

To round out California Wine Month, we’re highlighting some of our favorite California boutique vineyard wines poured at L’Auberge Del Mar. Hand-selected by Beverage Manager and Resort Sommelier Brian Mayer, each wine brings unique California taste to our boutique property. Here are four favorites from the Golden State:

1) 2014 Varner Chardonnay

Known for its old world style with a soaring acidity on par with Burgundy, the Varner Chardonnay hails from the Santa Cruz Mountains and has won a myriad of awards.

2) 2014 Foxglove Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cab is one of our most popular wines by the glass. From the hillsides of Paso Robles, this wine is a fruit forward style of Cabernet Sauvignon while maintaining a soft, smooth finish.

3) 2012 Neely Pinot Noir

For Pinot Noir connosuires, we recommend this earth-kissed wine, also produced by the Varner Brothers, with grapes from organic Spring Ridge Vineyard.

4) 2008 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon

A favorite with both guests and staff, this ornate wine is made with Cabernet grapes that are incredibly intense and flavorful from Heitz Cellars Trailside Vineyard. (Pictured below)
